Live Wedding Painting & Event Painting in Fort Worth
Caya Crum is a Fort Worth artist and a live wedding painter. She sets up at the ceremony or the reception, paints the room as it fills and the moment as it happens, and the couple keeps the finished painting: a one-of-a-kind record of the day, made by hand, in front of your guests.
It isn't only weddings. Caya live-paints events of all kinds: rehearsal dinners, birthdays, company parties, store openings, fundraisers, gallery nights and pop-ups across Fort Worth. She has live-painted for the Sid Richardson Museum's Gallery Night, with Camp Fire Girls, and for nonprofits that turn the finished piece into an auction item.
Every event is quoted on its own: date, venue, size of the painting, how long you'd like her there. Reach Caya directly and she'll walk you through it.

How live wedding painting works
Before the guests arrive, Caya sets up her easel where the painting will have the best view: the altar, the head table, the dance floor. As the event unfolds she paints it: the room, the light, the people in it. Guests watch the painting come together over the course of the evening, which tends to become part of the party. At the end of the night you have a painting of your wedding that nobody else on earth has.
Live, on the easel
A few of the rooms Caya has painted in: shows, markets, fundraisers and the Crum Art booth. The finished piece always goes home with someone.

What it costs
Live painting is priced per event, not from a menu: the date, the venue, the size of the canvas and the hours on site all move the number. Email or text Caya with the date and the place and she'll send a quote.
Questions couples ask
Do we get the painting that night?
You'll see the finished painting at the event. Whether it goes home with you that night or after final touches in the studio is something to settle with Caya when you book. It depends on the piece.
Can she paint something other than a wedding?
Yes: parties, corporate events, openings, fundraisers and gallery nights. If there's a room and an occasion, it can be painted.
Where is she based?
Fort Worth, Texas, in the same studio where her workshops are held. Ask her about your venue.
Does she take commissions too?
Caya welcomes commissions: pet portraits, personal portraits and custom pieces. Start with a custom pet portrait at Crum Art, or see where she has painted on the giving back and upcoming events pages. Her finished original paintings and her prints are for sale at Crum Art.

Mahj for Meals, Tarrant Area Food Bank — October 1, 2026
On Thursday, October 1, 2026, Caya painted live at Mahj for Meals at River Crest Country Club (1501 Western Avenue, Fort Worth), the Tarrant Area Food Bank's mahjong fundraiser benefiting its Ready to Learn initiative. She painted an equestrian piece during the event and donated it to the auction, along with additional work. The event raised nearly $400,000 for the food bank, and Caya was happy to be a small part of it. The Tarrant Area Food Bank empowers communities to eliminate hunger by providing food, education and resources.
The Paslay Foundation — Indulge & Inspire, October 11, 2026
On Sunday, October 11, 2026, as soon as Christmas in Cowtown closed, Caya and her sister Tavi made a mad dash to Clay Pigeon in Fort Worth, where Caya painted live at Indulge & Inspire: Casino Tropicana, the Paslay Foundation's annual fundraiser. She painted an orchid during the evening and donated it to the auction. Founded by chef Marcus Paslay and Emily Paslay of From Scratch Hospitality (Clay Pigeon, Piattello, Provender Hall, Walloon's), the foundation raises funds for Fort Worth organizations and professionals who support kids with learning differences: early testing, evidence-based tutoring and individualized help for children with dyslexia, ADHD and autism.

Caya painted live in the Crum Art booth all week at Christmas in Cowtown, the Junior League of Fort Worth's holiday gift market at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, which raises money for the League's community programs. The painting on her easel, Plaid Pony, found a home before the show closed.
